Oakland House Lift and ADU

This 100+ year-old Victorian is a perfect example of what the future holds for many older homes in our cities. We lifted this craftsman house and excavated below to create around 1,000 square feet of new livable space. The new ground floor now has a one car garage and a lovely JADU that can serve as an in-law apartment or au pair unit. An addition off the back of the main (now second) floor allowed for a new open kitchen. 

The cost of the lift was around $80,000 in addition to the cost of the excavation, foundation, and finishing the interior of the new space.
