This started as an old one-car garage that hasn’t had a car in it in decades. We demolished the garage and built a compact accessory dwelling. It is currently rented on Airbnb, where it is generating almost $3,000 per month in income. The owner has plans to downsize to this cottage in the future, while her daughter, son in law, and grandchildren move into the main home. The cottage has bamboo and tile floors, custom cabinets, radiant heating, a second-floor sleeping loft, custom cabinets, skylights, and painted cedar siding.
