Owners of older homes in the Bay Area often look for ways to add additional space without leaving their home. In this case, one of our clients worked from home and also wanted a space for visiting guests. The solution: adding a detached bedroom and home office. The small structure is simple and functional, and it ties into the aesthetic of the main house. The guest suite, which the owners use as a home office, has a nicely sized bedroom with enough space for a queen-sized bed and a large desk. Adjacent to the bedroom is a small closet and spacious bathroom. The accessory structure is tucked into the corner of the property and integrated into the landscape design, giving the home nice outdoor spaces for entertaining.
