Cost to design and permit a one-bedroom accessory dwelling in Berkeley

Larisa wanted to build an accessory dwelling on her property to help relieve the housing crisis in the area. Her long-term plans for the new building include moving family members in.

Larisa brought a floorplan that she liked to New Avenue. A New Avenue design professional worked with the plan to incorporate Larisa's needs and make the necessary changes to tailor the building to her property.

The floorplan includes an entryway, a living area with kitchen, a bathroom, and a bedroom.

This attractive and functional home will help Larisa, who wants to do her part and help ease the housing problem in Berkeley. She'll also benefit from the income it brings her. Later, when her family members need it, she has an accessible home just a few steps away from her own.
