Cost to design and build a one-bedroom, one-bathroom addition in San Ramon, California

When Chris and Laura decided to build an in-law unit so their elderly parents could live with them, they came to New Avenue for help with the design and construction process.

Chris and Laura wanted to add a one-story addition to their existing two-story home. A New Avenue design professional created a design that would blend well with the existing home's style and give the family plenty of comfortable, useful space.

In extending the home, Chris and Laura's team made a few minor changes to the existing layout. They added a porch and entryway to the home's secondary entrance. They also built a new laundry room and moved the washer and dryer out of the old hallway laundry closet.

The main addition consisted of a living area with a table and wet bar, a bathroom, and a bedroom with a bay window and a walk-in closet. Chris and Laura's family members will be comfortable here.
