A Central Coast of California native, Lucrezia de León holds a Bachelor of Science in architecture with an emphasis on the sustainable built environment from the University of Arizona, where she was inducted into the Epsilon Alpha Chapter of the Tau Sigma Delta Honor Society.
With her thesis on Demographic Determinants on Health through the Built Environment, she explored cyclical housing through the National Housing Authority (NHA) guidelines, redlining, and the perpetuated socio-economic gap as it pertains to housing.
Throughout her career, Lu has worked in areas ranging from affordable multifamily housing to civic and community-oriented projects. All her previous positions explored functional information and operations of housing development on multiple levels, with a special emphasis on homelessness, affordable housing, workforce housing, and public housing.
Lu currently serves on the board of directors for Hillside Housing, and the board of directors for Santa Barbara Beautiful, where she also serves as Chief Financial Officer.
Outside of the office, Lu loves to spend time with her family and is usually found cheering at one of her sons' games, enjoying the beach, or snowboarding in the mountains
