Alfredo Coronel understands that most homeowners only build a dream project once in their lifetime. For this reason, he takes his responsibility as a designer seriously, working to streamline the process, reduce risk, and minimize surprises. He appreciates the design/build process and enjoys being involved in every phase of a project, making the ideals of New Avenue a reality for his clients.

Alfredo holds a Bachelor of Arts in architecture and is working toward licensure as an architect. One of the highlights of his design career so far has been working in Ansonia, Connecticut, converting four manufacturing buildings into residential units and commercial space. What fascinated him most about the project was juxtaposing materials from the early 1900s with modern materials to create an “old-meets-new” aesthetic.

Born in Mexico, Alfredo moved to the US at the age of 9 and speaks both English and Spanish. He has lived in Long Beach, California; the San Francisco Bay Area; and New Haven, Connecticut. He enjoys hiking and finding new places to hike. (He recently took on a five-week coast-to-coast road trip, visiting Acadia, Badlands, Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Glacier, Olympic, and Redwood National Parks.) He loves cooking and enjoys talking with his mom about her recipes and techniques.

A Place I’ve Called Home

This is the apartment my family and I lived in when moving to the US. I used to ride my bike around the neighborhood with friends and cousins, play soccer in the alley and yell "car" whenever a car was approaching, good times! I believe the place is being demolished to make way for a mix-used development.
