This Emeryville ADU design will have you daydreaming
To get a glimpse into our design process, we want to share with you some schematic design images of an ADU project in Emeryville that we are currently working on. Schematic Design is still very early and we are just starting to set the layout of the floor plans and the look and feel of the exterior and interior of the ADU. The idea is for these images to give a glimpse of what the project may look like when it is complete. We utilize three dimensional views like these to help describe the design intent to our clients and let them give feedback so we can adjust and refine the design into the perfect solution for their needs and property.
In this case, the homeowner wants to replace his old garage with a new accessory dwelling to rent out, and he’s thinking about moving into it himself one day. We created a two-story building to give additional square footage but to maintain a small footprint to preserve some of the backyard. A loft opens to the floor below while large windows and skylights bring in tons of natural light so the interior spaces feel bright and spacious.
The floor plan includes an open living and dining area and kitchen, a single full bathroom, a utility room, and an outdoor patio to give some extra living space. A Murphy bed and kitchenette provide the essentials while ensuring ample living space.
