Cost to design and build a remodel of a three-story home in San Francisco
One San Francisco family recently came to New Avenue for a major remodel of their three-story home. With two growing children, the family needed to add more closet space and an additional bathtub. They also wanted to update their home by making better use of the space and upgrading the fixtures throughout the second and third floors.
The second floor of the home includes a kitchen and powder room. The family wanted to add French doors between the kitchen and the deck and more space in the doorway between the kitchen and dining room. Additional updates for the kitchen included fresh paint on the kitchen cabinets, new flooring, new countertops, a new backsplash, and improved lighting. The adjoining powder room received updated features including a wall-mounted toilet and sink, and the room's reconfiguration made space for a walk-in pantry to be added to the kitchen.
The third floor also received major renovations. The master bathroom was modified to increase its square footage and better incorporate it into the master suite. The re-vamped master bath included a toilet, steam shower, and double vanity. A linen closet, the master bedroom's closet, and the closet for an adjacent bedroom were put together to make a single spacious closet in the master suite. A new closet was added to the second bedroom, and a bathtub was added to the kids' bathroom.
This family has great taste and a good feel for what they'll need as their children grow. Their New Avenue partner designer was able to create a design that would incorporate the features they wanted and make the best possible use of their space.
