Cost to Build an Accessory Dwelling with Loft, Kitchen, Living Area, and Bath in Richmond, California

We had the pleasure of designing a gorgeous new 300-square-foot ADU to complement our client’s existing home in Richmond.

With a tankless water heater, in-slab radiant heating, engineered hardwood floors, and imported quartz countertops, this ADU is designed with an exceptionally beautiful and functional interior. The homeowners chose to include a loft for storage and to add cabinets to maximize their storage space.

Special considerations

When adding an ADU to any property, it’s critical to consider all local regulations. In Richmond and in most other areas, there are requirements that ensure the roof lines and heights of the new structure work well with those of the existing buildings.

There are also building permits, which New Avenue handles on behalf of the homeowner. Permit fees are not included in the bid amount.

When building in California, we must comply with the environmental and safety codes. New Avenue ensures each project’s compliance with local and state law.
