Cost to add a family room and primary suite in San Mateo

Karla and Martin wanted to increase the space in their existing home, bringing the total number of bedrooms in their San Mateo house to four.
Their New Avenue partner designer created an addition that would include a spacious primary suite and a new family room. A dining area was also included in the design. The addition increased the square footage of the home by 686 square feet.

The total budget for this project was $222,957.83 in 2015. A similar project in 2021 would cost around $300,000. You can view the entire budget here:
