Adding an attached ADU in Pleasant Hill, CA

When the owners of a Pleasant Hill home decided to add an attached accessory dwelling, they came to New Avenue for our turnkey design/build pricing and service.

The homeowners had a budget and several ideas in mind when they met with their New Avenue designer, who advised them on their options.

When the design was complete, the homeowners had plans for a 930-square-foot addition, including an ADU that could be rented out or used for family or guests. At the homeowners’ request, the designer included ways that the ADU could be converted to be accessible for people living with disabilities.

The ADU includes a large living room/bedroom area with a kitchenette, a bathroom with a shower, shared access to the garage and laundry room, and plenty of storage space. This setup allows both easy access and privacy.

Throughout its lifetime, the addition can be a retreat for the homeowner, a rental unit, or a home for the owners’ family members.
