Three concepts for a detached ADU in Palo Alto

An accessory dwelling brings huge rewards, but it’s also a big commitment. When you’re investing your money, time, and energy, you want to know you’re getting the best possible ADU for your property and your needs. To make sure your ADU is right for you and works for your unique property, your New Avenue designer will present you with several options and discuss the pros and cons of each so you can choose a layout that fits your lifestyle, tastes, and location.

Here are three options we presented to a client in Palo Alto who plans to build a detached accessory dwelling unit in her backyard for her family and guests to use when they visit. The goal is for a one bedroom ADU with open living, kitchen, dining area. It was also important to look at ways to create outdoor spaces to make the smaller sized dwelling feel spacious.
