A city looks for big solutions in little – very little – houses

On Saturday back in 2011, Mayor Tom Bates cut the ribbon on a new home on Delaware St. in Berkeley, CA. It’s not every day a city leader welcomes a new dwelling into the fold, and this home is not big or flashy; in fact it’s positively diminutive at just 420 sq ft,. So one might wonder why it warrants an “opening party” with dignitaries, sponsors, and even a salsa band. Read more:
